Dedication

On a day already rich with meaning, the parishioners of St. Denis Church in Havertown were met with a moment of awe and joy. As part of the parish’s bicentennial celebration, Father Kevin Gallagher revealed a long-held secret: a breathtaking white marble sculpture, newly installed on the face of the choir loft, gifted to the parish in honor of its 200th anniversary.

As the veil was lifted, gasps echoed throughout the sanctuary. The 32-foot-wide marble artwork, composed of five hand-carved segments and weighing over 10,000 pounds, now anchors the rear of the church with a profound visual statement. The piece is both timeless and new—honoring tradition while inviting fresh reflection.

The sculpture is securely mounted with custom-engineered steel brackets, a hidden feat of design and engineering that allows the artwork to feel seamlessly integrated into the historic space.

As St. Denis marks this historic milestone, the new sculpture stands as a tangible expression of gratitude, vision, and enduring devotion. A gift from a pastor to his people—and from a parish to the future.
