St. John the Evangelist
Severna Park, MD
St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, MD has undergone a stunning sanctuary renovation led by St. Jude Liturgical Arts Studio. At the heart of this transformation is a new shallow dome above the altar, featuring a hand-painted mural inspired by Revelation 5. The artwork draws worshippers’ eyes heavenward, depicting Christ the Lamb surrounded by saints and angels in eternal praise, with the words “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain” encircling the dome.
Complementing this central feature are a new reredos, baptismal font, altar, ambo, and tabernacle table, all crafted to enhance the liturgical setting. The Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary was beautifully renovated, and aging mechanical systems throughout the church were upgraded for improved comfort and function. Together, these updates create a space that lifts the heart and soul into the worship of Heaven.
